We will provide you with an Accessible Map that will clearly outline the steep gradients, dropped kerbs, pedestrian crossings and how best to manage the terrain of the city to allow you to see all the wonderful attractions in the town.
Do you provide training on how to use the equipment?
All new members will receive training in the safe use of equipment on your first visit. We will remain with you until you are comfortable using the equipment.
I use the local Door to Door transport service, can you meet me?
Ring us to tell us the time that you will be arriving and we can meet you at the entrance to the shopping centre where the vehicle leaves drops you off.

Yes, our members have been able to borrow our equipment to go on holiday.

You can normally hire equipment on a daily basis between 9.00am - 4.45pm. If you are visiting the city and staying in a hotel or with friends and family we can arrange for you to have an overnight hire, when we have guaranteed the safe keeping and recharging of the equipment.

Meet and Greet Service
If a member has difficulty getting from Foyleside Car Park to the Shopmobility Unit, they can make arrangements in advance of their visit to have a member of staff bring the equipment to meet them at their car. This service must be arranged in advance, however, and is only available during Shopmobility hours.
What is the membership process?
We ask new members to bring two forms of identification:
• Photographic Identification, for example your passport or driving licence
• Address Information, for example a utility bill or bank statement.
We then ask you to complete a membership application form.
For all new members Shopmobility will:
• issue you with a membership card and, on your next visit; you can simply show your card.
• provide you with equipment that best suits your needs once you have tried out a range of models.
• provide you with training on how to use the equipment and controls safely, and when you feel confident in handling the equipment both inside and outside the shopping centre, you are then ready to go!
At the busiest time of the year, for example around Christmas, members may need to book their equipment in advance. At such times the staff member will have the equipment ready when you arrive or call into the unit during opening hours.
